When I'm not crafting, you can find me working on some sort of household project. Last January, my husband and I purchased a 1971 single family home that needed some major cosmetic updating. The previous owner was a woman in her 90's, who had purchased the home brand new with her husband and adult daughter. The interior of the home was spotless and in incredible condition. Appliances had all been replaced over the years and it was obvious, she took great care of her home.
With that said .. as a new, young family entering the home, the interior aesthetics weren't quite our style. The entire house is carpeted in green carpet. Underneath that, is an even older, darker, green carpet. Almost every single wall is green, with the exception of the "family room" in white stucco and wallpapered bathrooms. Green. Green. Green. As far as the eyes can see.
Slowly, we have been making this house our "home" and updating what we can, when we can. Throwing in some full time careers and three kids, our home will be a forever project of updating, and I'm OK with that. I'll never be bored.
